INCIDENT 05/02/2023 at 1718 hrs. Dispatch alerted Castorland due to a delay response from Rutland to 9688 River road Town of Denmark for a possible grass fire a large amount of black smoke can be seen in the area, When Castorland acknowledged the call Rutland Engine reported in route Castorland stood by for a moment. When Rutland could see the smoke in the area of where the fire was located and off road between rte194 and River rd. they requested Castorland Bruch truck and Tankers. Immediately Castorland Utility responded and Tanker/Engine 1, and as manpower arrived Tanker 2, Rescue responded. On the Way just after turning on 26 the 5" supply hose came off of Tanker/Engine 1 unaware of this they continued on to the scene, Tanker 2, Rescue found it in the road, an individual driving on the road run over one of the couplings Tanker 2, Rescue and other personnel stopped and immediately remove the hose from the roadway Utility and Tanker/Engine 1 arrived on scene. Utility found its way back in the field and began to extinguish the fire it was a pile of rubbish. with the no burn band still in place the fire had to be put out. DEC Officer arrived on scene and spoke with the homeowner Rulands Utility truck, and West Carthages UTV arrived and helped. After the fire was extinguished, Castorland units cleared the scene and returned to the station. The men at the station were cleaning the 1,000 feet of 5" hose to be placed back on the Tanker/Engine at 2000 hrs. Castorland reported back in service

INCIDENT 04/22/2023 at 2111 hrs. Castorland was dispatched along with Rutland and West Carthage fire to 9765 State route 12 Village of Copenhagen for a fire in the building, a 2 apartment complex. This is Rutlands auto alarm for structure fires since taking over the new district area. Units from Castorland Truck 1, responded after a crew arrived, then Engine 2 once the crew assembled, Tanker 2 responded While inroute Rutland arrived on scene and within a few minutes reported the fire was out, venting the building Castorland unit arrived on scene Rutland had us stage on scene, they were pulling debris out of the building and ventilating the apartment with fans, a few minutes pass and the Rutlands chief in charge released Castorland., we cleared the scene and reported back in service 2210 hrs.
INCIDENT 04/21/2023 at 1129 hrs. Castorland was dispatched to 7731 East Rd. Town of Lowville for a possible structure fire, reported fire on the porch, a request for Mutual aid from Lowville. Castorland Engine 2, Chief, and Engine/Tanker 1 responded. While in route Lowville units called on scene and reported the fire was out. Castorland Chief 2 was at the station heard the radio transmission and held all other units at the station, Castorland units arrived on scene, Lowville was conducting overhaul on the porch within a few minutes after arrival Lowville's chief released Castorland, we cleared the scene, reporting back in service at 1205 hrs
INCIDENT 04/18/2023 at 1533 hrs. Castorland was dispatched to 7239 Kirschnerville Road, Town of New Bremen for a reported structure fire, flames reported visible on the roof. With Croghan fire units already in route, Croghan Chief requested his second alarm which brought Castorland, Beaver Falls, New Bremen units to the scene. Castorland units responded were Truck 1, Engine/Tanker 1, Tanker 2, Rescue, and Utility. Truck 1 arrived and was met by the Croghan Chief orders were given to set up on D side of the building where the chimneys are located, Truck 1 positioned and set up to gain access to the chimney area. The remaining units and members arrived on scene. Croghan Firefighters were working from a ladder to extinguish the fire, Castorland crew in the bucket on truck 1 went to work removing the eves, soffit, and tin on the roof to gain access to the burning cedar shingles and roof boards, after much work the crew was able to extinguish the fire. Once Croghan Chief released Castorland, members gathered the tools for Truck 1 and cleared the scene. Castorland reported all units back in service 1730 hrs.
INCIDENT 04/15/2023 at 2021 hrs. Castorland was dispatched for a station stand by. West Carthage is en route to a grass fire on Station rd Town of Denmark and requested Castorland to stand by their station. Castorland acknowledged the call with manpower standing by at the station. At 2030 hrs, West Carthage arrived on scene, found a large grass fire and requested Castorland's Tanker, Brush unit ,and manpower to the scene. Tanker 2, Utility and Rescue responded, Utility arrived on scene and went to work, the crew of 5 firefighters drove out in the field to extinguish fire on the perimeter. Crew members use the booster line, brooms and tools to extinguish fire. Tanker 2 supplied water to the West Carthage's Engine, after the fire was contained crew's continued to extinguish hot spots. Once extinguished West Carthage Chief released Castorland, units cleared the scene and reported back in service at 2200 hrs.
INCIDENT 04/14/2023 at 2039 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to 5204 Climax street Village of Castoland, Town of Denmark for a Commercial fire alarm, Sprinkler zones 6&9 flow switches in the warehouse. Castorland Chief ordered all units to remain in station. Chief arrived on scene and found the employees working on the sprinkler system, the employee's didn't realize they activated the alarm again. Chief assisted with the sprinklers system and reported back in service at 2139 hrs.
INCIDENT 04/14/2023 at 1939 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to 5204 Climax street Village of Castoland, Town of Denmark for a Commercial fire alarm, Sprinkler zones 6&9 flow switches in the warehouse. Castorland Engine 2, Rescue. Utility responded. All units arrived on scene along with the chief, Chief reports to dispatch nothing visible from the outside awaiting the key holder, a couple firefighters did a walk around, the key holder showed up within a few minutes, crews enter the building and confirmed Sprinklers 6 & 9 activated to a Air compressor malfunction, the air holds a clapper head down keeping the water out of the sprinkler system until the air is depleted usually a sprinkler head let's the air out or in this case the air compressor, firefighters and Slack's employee secured the water and cleared the scene, reporting back in service at 2000 hrs.
INCIDENT 04/13/2023 at 1344 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to 4892 State Route 410 Village of Castorland Town of Denmark for a Commercial Fire alarm, Zone 2 activated. Castorland Engine 2, Rescue responded and arrived on scene a few minutes later. A firefighter enters the multi apartment complex to investigate. Firefighter Portable 1 reported burnt food in apartment 106 no fire and canceled Beaver Falls, chief 2 arrived and assisted with exhausting the smoke from the apartment, once completed units cleared the scene and reported back in service at 1410 hrs.
INCIDENT 4/05/2023 at 1129 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to 5196 State Route 410 Village of Castorland Town of Denmark for a Commercial fire alarm. Castorland units responded Engine 2, Rescue, Chief arrived on scene and reported nothing visible from the outside. Investigation revealed a smoke detector activated for no reason in apartment 5 second floor the firefighters reset the alarm, Units cleared the scene and reported back in service at 1150 hrs.
INCIDENT 04/02/2023 at 1805 hrs. Castorland was dispatched to 5440 Park place dr. Village of Lowville for a structure fire. Lowville Chief requested Interior Firefighters. Units responded from Castorland Truck 1 with a crew of 4, Engine 2 with a crew of 3, Rescue with 2 and Utility responded. Castorland Units arrived on with Lowville and units from Martinsburg, New Bremen, some firefighters already on scene were waiting for the trucks to arrived once geared up assembled and established teams the 10 interior firefighters staged until Lowville command requested them to enter the building to extinguish hot spots and conduct overhaul, Lowville had the majority of the fire extinguished. Ladders and hand tools were used from the Truck and Engine 2, after a period of an hour or so the hot spots and overhaul was completed Lowville command released Castorland units. All 18 members and units returned to the station and began to clean air packs, tools and refilled air bottles from our cascade system, gear being prepped to be washed after the airpacks were serviced Castorland reported back in service at 2025 hrs.
INCIDENT 04/01/2023 At 2046 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls and West Carthage was dispatched to the East Road Town of Denmark for a reported possible Structure fire, between knapp and North Boshart roads. Caller reported to dispatch he didn't know the address he was coming from castorland went down a big hill and saw a lot of smoke coming from the windows near the campgrounds on the left side of the road. units responded from castorland, Engine 2, Truck 1, Engine/Tanker 1, Tanker 2, Rescue. while on route dispatch radio all units and reported a sheriff unit is on scene reporting this is a sugar bush no Fire. Castorland Chief and Engine 2, arrived on scene and confirmed shugabush and the chief had all units. The members had a discussion when all units were back in service on how every year someone can drive by this place and think this is a structure fire and dont think about stopping to see if everyone is out or ok ! but that's the good things about Cell phones just make the call better to be safe then take a few minutes to stop and check anyway castorland reported back in service at 2125 hrs.
INCIDENT 03/28/2023 at 1255 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to 9551 Main Street Beaver Falls, Town of Croghan for a possible Structure fire. Caller reports flames, smoke coming from the bottom and top of the chimney. Units responding from Castorland Truck 1 with 3 FF's, Engine 2 with 3 FF's, Engine/Tanker 1 with 2 FF's, Rescue with 2 FF's, while enroute Beaver Falls Ambulance called on scene reported smoke showing from the chimney. Castorland Truck 1 and Engine 2 arrived on scene with a few other firefighters on scene. Truck 1 pulled in the drive to set up, Engine 2 staged on the road. Crews entered the home to locate the cause of the smoke. Within minutes both crew's reported no smoke inside, another crew had gone to the basement and reported they turned the furnace off found a little smoke was coming from the pipe. Beaver falls Engine arrived and staged out front with the other units as they arrived, at this time the smoke had stopped showing from the chimney. The Castorland Chief determined the furnace had been malfunctioning and reported to dispatch no fire; just a malfunctioning furnace Lewis County Codes was called direct. Beaver Falls chief 1 arrived on the scene Command was transferred to him and Castorland units cleared the scene. all units reported back in service at 1330 hrs.
INCIDENT 3/25/2023 at 1941 hrs. Castorland, Beaver falls was dispatched to 5196 State Route 410 Village of Castorland Town of Denmark for a Commercial Fire alarm, alarm system showing second floor smoke detector. Castorland chief arrived immediately after dispatch and reported nothing showing from the outside as the chief approached the building to check the alarm panel just inside the entrance, to see which apartment was activated. He was met by a tenant, The tenant states he had burnt a towel on the stove. Chief asked if it was out and the tenant replied yes. The chief had the tenant take him to his apartment to see what had burnt as he entered apartment 5 the kids and wife or girlfriend was still in the room, and the chief looked around everything thing was ok no fire or smoke the window was open fully, a pan with the resemblance of something burnt in it on the stove no towel. The chief Radioed Dispatch and canceled all fire units and had firefighter reset the alarm system. Castorland members reported back in service at 2150 hrs.
INCIDENT 3/25/2023 at 1639 hrs. Castorland, Beaver falls was dispatched to 9432 East road Town of Denmark for a tree on wire with arcing. Chief arrived and found a tree hanging into the wires and directed Rescue and Utility to close one lane of traffic Dispatch notified the chief Nation Grid had been called. Castorland Rescue and Utility responded and arrived a few minutes later and closed one lane, about a half an hour later national grid tree service showed up and removed the tree. There was no line down and after talking with the tree crew, they reported the National grid line crew would be long soon to put the power back on. Chief had all units clear the scene, all units reported back in service at 1723 hrs.
INCIDENT 03/25/2023 at 1523 hrs. Castorland was dispatched to 26 in Deer River Town of Denmark for a delay response from West Carthage, Castorland was disregarded 3 minutes later no units called out of service, chief acknowledged the cancel.
INCIDENT 03/10/2023 at 1855 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to 5196 State Route 410 Village of Castorland Town of Denmark for a Commercial fire alarm. Chief 3 arrived on scene with nothing visible from the outside of the multi apartment complex. Chief 3 entered the building to check the fire panel and was met at the door by a tenant who reported burning food on the stove no fire. Chief 3 canceled all units Beaver Falls returned and reported back in service, Engine 2 Backed in the station, castorland reported back in service at 1910 hrs.
INCIDENT 03/06/2023 at 0544 hrs. Castorland, Lowville and Lewis County Ambulance was dispatched to 9638 Elm Street Village of Castorland Town of Denmark for a reported Structure fire caller reporting having a Chimney fire. Engine 2, Engine/Tanker 1, Truck 1, responded. Fire Chief and Engine 2 arrived on scene, Chief confirmed a working chimney fire, confine to the chimney at this point, other units arrived. While fire crews were beginning operations and checking the basement it was determined the fire was beginning to extend into the peak of the structure smoke was beginning to come from the eves. Castorland firefighters went to work on the chimney itself. Fire chief ordered Castorland Truck 1 set up to reach the chimney, Castorland Engine 1 was ordered to back down Elm and stretch a 5” hose from Engine 2 to corner on 410 and hook to the fire hydrant. A crew of Lowville firefighters were ordered to complete some salvage inside on the second floor in the area of the chimney protecting a bedroom. Fire crews worked to move all of the items in the bedroom into one corner where they would be protected if we needed to rip the ceiling apart due to the extension into the roof Thankfully the fire did not spread further into the peak due to the suppression activities of fire crews outside, although the chimney had extensive damage the house itself had very little damage on the inside other than minor smoke damage which was able to be ventilated out by opening windows. The building is still being occupied thanks to all the firefighter’s effects, once the fire was extinguished and overhaul was completed, the building was turned back over to the owner, Fire crews picked up hose and equipment Lowville was released, Castorland units cleared returned to the station reloaded hose, cleaned equipment all units reported back in service at 0730 hrs.
INCIDENT 3/3/2023 at 0009 hrs. Castorland, Beaver falls was dispatched to 5196 State Route 410 Village of Castorland Town of Denmark for a commercial fire alarm, smoke detector activated second floor. Castorland chief called on scene of a multi apartment complex nothing visible from the outside investigating. Engine 2, Rescue responded, When the chief entered the building he was met at the door were the alarm panel is located by a tenant. The tenant reported she burnt food on the stove no fire. Chief asked which apartment it was on the first floor, chief opened the door and could see the detector activated no fire he canceled all units. the alarm was not sounding and could not be reset it was left for maintenance. all units reported back in service at 0025 hrs.
INCIDENT 02/24/2023 at 1925 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to 4888 State route 410 Village of Castorland Town of Denmark for a Commercial Fire alarm. Castorland Engine 2, Rescue responded Chief arrived on scene and spoke with the cleaner he reports he was cleaning and the alarm went off, when he went outside he left his keys on the cleaning cart the building was locked, a call was made for more keys. Chief did a 360 looking in all the windows all the lights were on, nothing was visible inside. Castorland Fire units arrived on scene, Beaver Falls Engine was order to stand by a hydrant at Karchers. the keys arrived about 20 min. later. Once inside the firefighter crew's checked the building found no detectors activated. the alarm system was reset. Beaver falls units were release and castorland cleared the scene and reported back in service at 2032 hrs.
INCIDENT 02/19/2023 at 1317 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to the area of 4798 Beech Ridge road Town of Croghan for a motor vehicle accident, dispatch reports no injuries car went of the road it's up against a utility pole on it's side. Castorland Engine 2, Rescue responded. Engine 2 and Chief 1 arrived and found the vehicle on it's side driver our of the vehicle, chief 1 reported to dispatch to cancel Beaver falls fire units keep the their ambulance coming. Beaver Falls Ambulance arrived provided care and transported one to the hospital. Castorland units cleared the scene and reported back in service at 1415 hrs.
INCIDENT 02/17/2023 at 0647 hrs. Castorland, Beaver falls was dispatched to 9028 Van Amber road Town of Croghan for a flooded Basement. Chief arrived on scene and went to the basement found approx. 3 to 4 feet of water. Rescue responded and when it arrived the portable pump was pulled and set up to pump the water from the basement, Beaver falls arrived and a few minutes later was released, after the water was removed it was determined the sump pump had stop working Castorland units cleared the scene and reported back in service 0740 hrs.
INCIDENT 02/12/2023 at 1342 hrs. Castorland was dispatched to 9868 Maple street Village of Copenhagen Town of Denmark for a reported structure fire. Castorland Truck 1, Engine/Tanker 1, Tanker 2, Rescue responded along with West Carthage fire units, this is Rutland's Fire department First alarm for fires. While in route Rutland Units arrive and report fire in Chimney area on the roof, Castorland units arrived and Truck 1 was ordered to setup, manpower for attack personnel went to the roof area to assist with extinguishment, FF's set up Fans to ventilate the rooms inside, after a period of time the fire was brought under control and overhaul was completed. Rutland's Chief in charge released Castorland units we rounded up our tools and cleared the scene all units reported back in service at 1550 hrs.

INCIDENT 02/07/2023 at 1310 hrs. Castorland was dispatched to 3405 Halifax rd. Town of Denmark for a EMS lift assist with Guilfoyle Ambulance. Castorland Utility 1 responded with a crew and on arrival fire members came from the house met with Utility 1 and reported the Ambulance crew was all set. Utility 1 cleared the scene returned to the station and reported back in service at 1340hrs.
INCIDENT 2/3/2023 at 1548 hrs. Castorland, Beaver falls was dispatched to 9595 Main Street Beaver falls Town of Croghan for a Commercial fire alarm. Beaver falls officer arrived immediately and reported to dispatch to have Castorland stand down, Castorland base acknowledged the ordered and remained in service at 1551 hrs.
INCIDENT 1/25/2023 at 1016 hrs. Castorland, Beaver falls was dispatched to 9644 main street Beaver falls for a Commercial fire alarm. as manpower arrived at the station Dispatch radio for all units to disregard personnel are working on the alarm system Castorland reported back in service at 1019 hrs
INCIDENT 1/11/2023 at 1152 hrs. Castorland was dispatched to 9217 state route 812 Town of New Bremen for a Structure Fire. Croghan fire units were in route a Croghan Fire chief reporting a working fire and requested their second alarm which brought Castorland, Beaver falls, New Bremen to the scene. Castorland Units responded was Engine 2, Engine/Tanker 1, Tanker 2, Rescue and Utility. Engine 2 arrived and the crew immediately went to work with fire attack. Tankers arrived and staged to supply New Bremen’s Engine with water, Utility 1 assisted with traffic control at the four corners in Croghan, as firefighters arrived, they packed up and assisted with fire suppression. Once the fire was knocked down, overhaul began personnel continued to work extinguishing hot spots. Croghan Command released Castorland when completed, we retrieved our equipment and returned, once in the station the tools, airpacks and gear were cleaned and returned to service Castorland reported back in service at 1430 h
INCIDENT 01/04/2023 at 2234 hrs. Castorland was dispatched to 7785 N. State Street Village of Lowville for a Propane leak. Lowville Fire Chief Requesting Mutual Aid for interior firefighters and gas meters from Castorland and Martinsburg. Lowville chief also sates they have a 500 gal. propane tank on it’s top leaking copious amounts of gas entering the hospital. Engine 2, Rescue and Utility responded while in route Lowville chief reports the propane tank has been turned off. Castorland units arrived at the Emergency entrance to Lewis County General to stage in parking lot. The firefighter’s packed up with air packs and carried exhaust fan up to the entrance of the ER awaiting instructions, once command gave them orders the firefighters then entered the hospital to set fans up to ventilate and monitor the air for levels of propane with the meters. Multiple agencies were called in for gas meters there are many rooms to check. After the fumes were removed Lowville chief released Castorland. Castorland reported back in service at 0115 hrs.
INCIDENT 01/03/2023 at 2354hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to East Road South of 410 Town of Denmark for a large amount of smoke in the area possible an outside wood stove. Castorland Engine 2, Engine/Tanker1 responded. The chief checked the east road up to Shack Road Town of Lowville and arrived in the area of 2 residence where the chief knew of an outside boiler everything appeared to be ok at both places. Chief released all units to return to quarters. Castorland reported back in service at 0025 hrs.
